I was born in South Africa (1947)and been an artist for more than 50 years, using most of the traditional methods like watercolour, oils and drawing with pastels but in more recent years favouring hand screen printing and mono printing. I love colour.
My favourite subject is the female form whether drawing or using photography to capture images for composing complex screen print images. The wonderful beauty of England and Scotland have inspired me to look at the landscape too.
In 1988 I opened my own small art gallery in Glasgow selling artwork by many contemporary artists whose work opened my eyes to the Scottish art traditions. I now live in south east England working as a full-time artist. Travel to far flung parts of the world has inspired my photography and focussed my mind and eyes to see new things.
